Frank Stites (1882-1915) was a real early aviation pioneer. He was the second person in the world to fly upside down and was employed by Universal Pictures as a contract player during Universal City's opening in 1915. Trajegically, Stites crashed on the backlot in March, 1915. It is said that his ghost appears frequently at Terror Tram. There have been mulitple people hearing, "giggling" in the hills and seeing ghost figures in, "old aviator clothes," walking the back lot.
